Cleaning up lineart

Scanning lineart

First you stick your drawing in the scanner and scan it. Go to File > Import and select your scanner.

Now your picture is scanned, it should look somewhat like this:

Notice that there are unwanted markings and dust all over the image.

So now, if your picture is not already in grayscale, go to Image > Mode > Grayscale.

Usually you would scan the image with a resolution from 200dpi to 600dpi, depending on how fast your computer is. I usually scan between 200-300dpi since I do not draw with too much detail, and I can't stand it when the computer lags. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry about it. It's just the quality of the image when you scan it. Smaller resolution means lower quality and, of course, a larger resolution means higher quality.).
If you still have trouble understanding how to scan it... ask someone else. ^^; I'm horrible at explaining things. Sorry. u_u Or you can also read the manual that comes with the scanner.

Okay, let's start cleaning up that dirty lineart. To the next part →
